INFORMATION: Known from at least 2500 BCE, Kherty acts as a guardian of royal tombs but displays a more ominous aspect threatening the soul of the ruler. Pyramid Texts warn that the king must be protected from Kherty by the sun god Re. Depicted anthropomorphically or with the head of a ram.
